NFPA 72 annual inspection: what owners need to know

What gets tested, what gets documented, and what your AHJ expects to see at audit time.

All resources

NFPA 72 sets the inspection, testing, and maintenance cadence for fire alarm systems. Annual is the minimum; many components require more frequent attention.

Beyond passing the test, what matters is the documentation. A clean inspection report, a closed deficiency list, and a working monitoring account are what your AHJ asks for at audit.

Maritech's inspection program produces AHJ-ready records and a prioritized remediation plan when deficiencies are found.
